FLORAL PAINTING AS AN APPROACH FOR DISCOVERING ONE’S PERSONAL EXPRESSION
Vincent Van Gogh’s “Sunflowers” paintings are some of the best-known 19th-century still-life paintings, while Georgia O’Keeffe’s unique and intimate images of flowers serve as powerful and personal metaphors of life. Contemporary artists are still motivated to express florals in ways inspired by these two artists, yet do so in utterly unique and personal ways. In this workshop, you will be guided towards creating works of art that are personally expressive. Participants will be guided towards working on large scale floral painting, creating forms and shapes unique to themselves, while learning about and adopting some of the methods and techniques of these amazing artists. The class is from August 8 to 11 (4 days). Page 20 of the guide lists full details. The class is $231 for members and $272 for non members. To register please call 905.303.1821
